Dress with sleeves for work

Where do you work, the RNC?

I don't think it's a bad question. I prefer sleeves too. It's always too cold inside office buildings for sleeveless shirts (for me) and I think a singular dress is sleeker than adding a cardigan (and more comfortable than having to add a blazer).

A DoD contractor with client meetings once in a while. Sleeves are required, no shorts or belly-baring outfits. Shorter than knee length skirts got written up.

This really isn't hard. Tuckernuck is a good starting point.

And where do you work that has this poiicy?

OP here: lol, the half sleeve ones are itchy under cardigans. But if you see a three-quarter sleeve cardigan, I am all years

What the what?

Misook is a random brand I love for tweed knit dresses with sleeves. They’re really comfortable and because the fabric is thick, it works imo for business settings without needing a jacket. But it’s not hot because it’s like…breathable? I mean it’s synthetic, but I guess it’s a loose enough weave or whatever. Anyway I think they’re great and much less expensive than some similar alternatives.

What about something like this? https://www.missfinchnyc.com/

It’s a modest store aimed at Orthodox Jewish women but should fit what you’re looking for. Past the knee and with sleeves and you can wear it to work.

Or can you just wear pants and a long sleeve button down top like the men all probably wear?

This….does not seem real.

Mm lafleur is great for LS dresses, and they often have pockets. My work is more casual now but for awhile I just shopped there, but added a few trendier accessories from other brands.

I can see it if they have a sleeves rule for men and wanted it to be even handed. Like if they said “no polos” to men? I can’t tell from OP’s post if she can wear short sleeves.

Honestly I think sleeveless dresses are a little much for a formal meeting but most workplaces are so cold it’s a non issue and women have a jacket or a sweater anyway.

I am pretty sure short sleeves are fine and they just don't want mini dresses or skirts, so to the knee dresses also fine. This is pretty much what anyone who wears skirts or dresses at my government office does anyway, though some may wear sleeveless with a sweater or jacket.

OP has given no sense of what style she is looking for. Is she a sheath, pencil skirt type or is she an aline or fit and flare type? Does she need subdued colors or can she wear brighter ones in her work place? All of that information would be helpful for giving suggestions.

OP: you are not wrong. They had a business formal policy which they have downgraded to business casual with a lot of caveats.

OP here: I wear all styles of dresses and bright colors are fine but bright and patterns may be pushing it.
