Potomac Soccer 09B Orange

If the 4th team is playing in EDP III that's not bad, esp if they've been moving up steadily.

It's a pretty good team, though not college-player level. I bet you feel better for calling a bunch of teenagers who want to play soccer untalented!

Agreed. 100% unnecessary. Social media has created a bunch of one line keyboard warriors.

if they actually searched about the teams and coaches they would have learned about the coaches from pachuca

I’d guess it’s hard to run a micro club and the other option was folding post pandemic. Hopefully the coaches and kids can continue to play a decent level and for those that join have an opportunity for latin coaches to keep teaching kids the game instead of club admin.

This doesn’t fit mr. anger soccer guy’s narrative against country club moms paying for little Johnny to get a magnet at the car pool

Potomac has 4 boys 2009 teams: (1) ECNL, which has had a tough (first) year in ECNL, (2) ECNL-Regional League, which has been pretty successful at that level, and two more, roughly equal teams playing in EDP: Black and Pachuca Orange.

Pachuca was another, smaller club until last year, when Potomac absorbed them and brought on their coach/leader. The Pachuca team was playing in EDP 3, I think, and moved up to EDP 2, this spring, I think. While the Black team was playing in EDP 4 and moved up to EDP 3 this spring. But that just happened to be the leagues that the teams were playing in when Pachuca joined Potomac. Otherwise, the Pachuca team and the Black team have been pretty similar.

Now that they’re starting a new year though, they’re re-evaluating and re-sorting the kids. Orange will be the stronger team, playing in EDP 2. And Black will be the next team, playing in EDP 3.

Orange might also benefit from the addition of some of the Potomac ECNL-RL players that are being forced down as part of the ripple from Potomac trying to strengthen their ECNL team. In other words, Potomac is trying to add new players to their ECNL team, which will force some of the existing ECNL players to the ECNL-RL team (if they stay with Potomac). And that will force some of the existing ECNL-RL players to Orange, assuming those kids don’t leave for other clubs.
