Where to find out about PSAT-10 scores across FCPS?

Give your DC the support they need right now to work through the issues that are currently problematic.

We’ve discussed NoVA but I’m not convinced that will be a good fit either.

BTW it looks fairly certain that they will fail at least one class. Preparing for summer school. Got some info on it today.

Your kid needs neuropsych testing--rule out adhd, mood do, are they using substances? romantic issues? 1200 is 93/94th percentile so based on that your kid should have str8 As in honors/AP classes, its not an IQ deficit---what is standing in the way?

They are currently in therapy and the therapist says HS is not important. Grades do not matter.

1200 seems pretty good but the GPA.

I’m ok if they don’t go to college but they need a viable alternative. Living at home rent free is not an option.

Yeah that is great score. TJ kids seem to be only scoring around 1250 on the PSAT-10, so you are in good company.

TJ is 1370

Not for 2023.

I though that is what the pdf showed---was 1370 the average in 2022? what is it in 2023?
PS My kid got 1250 in 10th with all As and toughest courses-they do need to prep for PSAT11 and SAT though to get the score up--so I think your kid has the potential but if EF issues that needs to be worked on first.

Yeah that was for 2022.

2023 is around 1250, which is still really good.

120 point drop is significant but not at all unexpected.

Just curious if it’s the class as a whole that is generally lower or just a portion of the class doing significantly worse.

I guess if the NMSF results are only minimally affected, then it’s probably just a portion vs everyone.

Thread back on track. I second the possibility of NVCC. Great place to work the bugs out.

NVCC is for motivated kids, the main issue with this kid is being not motivated, definitely would not put them in a Community College.
