Hobbies and side hustles?

Anonymous
My hobby is crochet. Not currently a side hustle but friends have told me I should sell some of the things I've made. I've thought about leaning into that when I retire in 5ish years. Etsy shop and/or craft fairs. We'll see. Maybe I'll just donate blankets to Linus Project.

After seeing he could make some extra cash we started a business that resulted in him starting an online store and opening up wholesale accounts with manufacturers and distributors. He resigned from his job and decided to pursue it full time. In our best year the business has made $400k.

eBay is a total scam! Between their crazy high fees and the rediculous cost of mailing items, taxes you have to pay on sales and packaging material you will "sell" at a loss. Once you look into your detailed account information you'll see your not clearing anything that you "work" as charity!

Uber driver and dog walker have low barriers to entry and can bring in some reliable cash.

Can you be a dog walker if you've never owned a dog?

I farm on the side and grossed around $40k last year. Of course it’s farming so I invested it all back into the farm.

Stock photography and videos is my main side hustle and I love it. I also sell clip art on Etsy, sell T-shirts on Amazon, I have a travel blog, and I’m an Amazon “influencer”.

I love this one. How did you find customers?

It's all word of mouth. Started with dog-sitting and just told the people with fancy houses (and fancy dogs) that I love house sitting within the city and would be happy to do this for their friends too.

These days, there are tons of sellers combing Reddit for supply chain issues they can leverage, and sometimes manufacturers themselves get in on the “secondary” market action. Does your business still turn a significant profit? If so, I’m impressed.

I do this - once a month I give myself a pedicure on screen. No face, just feet. Different color polishes. I only repeat a color after a year, so I have 13 different ones (one clear).

Ha! I’m jealous and I applaud your simplicity. My OF/subscrip gig is a LOT more work.

What kind of monthly subs are you pulling?
