The guy who built it appears to have been a well known architect in pre-revolution Iran. Presumably he fled to DC upon the fall of the Shah.
He did the main stadium in Tehran: https://www.caoi.ir/index.php/en/projects/item/283-takhti-stadium |
What does this mean? I knew a member of the family in late 80s/early 90s while they were waiting for house to be liveable-hard to believe it was for sale so soon! |
| I actually like it. Wish the backyard were landscaped but it's kind of a cool unique place. |
|
It is an unique house. It's a perfect house for a certain kind of eccentric dark comedy movie.

Like American Psycho? |
|
I like the glass room ib the back.
need to paint and it could be cool |
I’d go in and put some rustic stone for more of a Greek cliff house vibe. |
| I love it except the bathrooms. And the stick legs in front would give me anxiety. But it’s a gorgeous (non bathroom) interior! |
| Are they selling that for the lot? |
| It looks like a storm trooper. |
I was going to say that while it’s not my style it’s clearly haute design. |
| That red was a Choice. |
| What is up with the description? "Originally a humble shack owned by a prominent TV journalist..." |

$2 Million and it has
(1) 1950s style red and black everything (2) CARPETS EVERYWHERE (3) 1980s style black marble(?) (4) AN UNFINISHED BASEMENT??? What on earth is going on here??? Thank you for sharing OP, this is nuts. |

Clearly the house is staged now (you can see where the sellers furniture used to sit from the indentations in the carpet). It's a shame. I would've loved to have seen the interesting furniture and stylings that THEY had in it. Now it looks like every other boring Pottery Barn house. 😔 So, while I hate, HATE all of the red -- I do kinda love everything else (that red bathroom looks like a portal to hell though, lol). |
