Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| I knew a girl growing up named Bronwyn. We called her Bronnie. She was very nice (I'm sure she still is). It was an unusual name then (still is), but no one teased her about it or anything. If you like it, go for it. |
| I like it. I know a Bronwyn who goes by "Bron" -- which is pronounced more like "brawn". I don't like the nickname but I do like the original. |
| Since you asked - I'm not a fan. I've never heard the name before. But if you like it - who cares! Once you meet someone with an uncommon name and get to know them, the more you hear the name, the less strange it sounds - people will get used to it. I think I'd be more inclined to go with a nickname like "Wyn" than "Braun". |
| I went to college with two or three girls by that name and have nothing against it. (Wouldn't choose it for my family, but no objections.) |
|
I had wanted Bronwyn for my DD but DH vetoed it, only because he knew one from his childhood that he didn't like.
It's not uncommon where we come from. I think it's a strong and lovely name. Hillarious that someone thinks it's made up!! (We ended up going with Josephine & have been coming across a few of them lately). |

I've heard of it but never knew anyone with the name. I like it!
And its certainly better than every other child in my kid's class who is named Grace, but that is another thread. |

I am a Bronwyn and I love it. There are not very many of us in the United States. However, there are a lot of Bronwyns in Australia and the UK.
And by the way, it's not a made up name. It's a Welsh name that means fair girl. |
| This is Bronwyn again. I went by the nickname Bronnie when I was a kid, Bron in college, and then I started just using Bronwyn. Some people also like to call be Bdub. |
| My cousin is named Bronwyn. She's a gorgeous, vivacious red-head and the name suits her. |
| Love it. It's on my short-list of names for a girl, but we've got 2 boys and my DH doesn't love it. |
| I am not a big fan of this name... sorry.. |
| don't like it at all |
| I like it. Have seen it in print in the past, and have always liked it, but have never met a Bronwyn (which is a plus, in my book, b/c the name is not too common hereabouts). |
It isn't a made up name as I have known several women from Great Britain with this name and one American. However, it does sound a bit affected for an American child and the American always said no one cold pronounce corectly so she started telling every to call her Wynn. |
| I like it. Very Irish sounding to me. |
