What do you think of this name for a girl?

Bronwyn.
You're either gonna love it or hate it, but please do tell!

Perfectly acceptable.

It wouldn't be my choice for a girl, but only because it has no sentimental meaning for me. However, it doesn't in any way conjur up references to monsters, stupid chix, or people I dislike so, yeah, sure... Sounds lovely.

Too affected; the problem with made up names is that they sound like they are artificially made up. Names that are made up don't sound unique, they just sound artificial. Then the person is forced to live with that stigma for the rest of their lives.

Dislike.

This isn't a made up name. I went to college with one. It's just not very common and I think it's pretty.

Don't like at all. It's hard to say and sounds harsh. On the positive side, it is a real name, so if I ran across one, it wouldn't irritate me in the way that a made-up or mis-spelled name would.

7:26 again - I do like it - just don't let her join the Brownies, or she'll never hear the end of it.

I've known someone with this name, too. Just one, back from childhood. Not a made up name. Not my preference (think it sounds a little tough), but I'm more into feminine names that end in "ie" aka Sophie, Jennie, Lilly, etc.

So, Bronwyn is perfectly acceptable to me....

It's hard to do anything with nickname wise. I don't know if that's a plus or minus with you.

My feeling is, who cares what we think? If you and your husband like it, go ahead. People won't hate it so much they actually talk to eachother publicly about it. It will be her name, and that's what she'll be called.

I LOVE the name. Considered it for my daughter. I know a couple Bronwyns; it's definitely NOT made up as PP suggested -- it's Welsh. Go for it.

This is kinda how I feel. But that's just because I don't particularly like the sound of the name--just a personal pref. But it's not a bad name at all and I wouldn't think anything bad if I came across one or a friend named her daughter that.

My mom had a friend with this name and she went by "Brawnie" (sp?) for a nickname. Cute, but reminds me of the paper towels.

Just met a Realtor with that name at an Open House on Sunday. She was a beautiful girl.

I absolutley LOVE it. If we weren't having a boy, I would consider stealing it!
