This is OP.

I am home from the surgery. It was a 9 mm fish bone they could see on the CT scan but could NOT find when they went in!! After looking for 1.3 hours and giving me a neck x ray, they decided I must have swallowed it after all while waiting for the surgery overnight.

I am home now and groggy from anesthesia and have a sore throat from the endoscopy type procedure.

Wow, now you have quite the story.

I used to tell about when a bone got stuck through my tongue vertically , so I could not talk to tell anyone what was wrong.

But I was able to just pull that out, so you win.

I no longer practice but at my childhood church, we also had blessing of the throats. I was talking with another Catholic friend but she didn't have it growing up. She didn't even know what I was talking about.

OP - glad you are better. Did you go through with the surgery? Or they didn't actually operate since they couldn't find it on x-ray?

Probably the endoscopy dislodged it even if they couldn't find it. I hope you feel better and that everything comes out okay.
