Boden is horrible. Change my mind!

I have one Boden shirt dress that I like - very flattering on my "old, fat" body (50, sz 2 or 4), subdued color and pattern.

Most of their patterns/colors hurt my eyes, but I wear mostly black and neutral colors.

I go into the office two days a week. Dress code is business casual, but I don't have a client facing role or really even interact with that many people at all. I don't want to spend much on my office wardrobe -- no point in my situation.

So I have a few Boden dresses -- all in plain neutrals, no prints -- that I like for the price. I'm 5'3" and a size 2 or 4. Their petite dresses are cut well and fit me well without tailoring; they're not just, like... shorter.

Boden was never my style.

Is Boden mainly for 45+ and/or slightly overweight women?

New and inventive ways to come at the humble brag.

Yep!

It's amazing that young people think that they lucked out being young, as if they aren't on the same trajectory as everyone else - gd willing.

OP here. I realize my initial post was needlessly nasty, I’m sorry! With the 45+ comment, I guess I was just curious whether women in their 30s wear this brand or is it mostly older. With the overweight comment, I think I was just commenting on the fact that everything is lose and seems to make everyone look heavy (even the size 2 models).

It used to be amazing. My go-to for all work clothes (their dresses especially fit me amazingly well and were easy to wash and wear) and even jeans and t-shirts. But I haven’t bought anything since the pandemic… it’s all hideous and too casual now.

But you said you never bought anything from there. Are you just looking at the pictures?

I’ve always had the impression that Biden caters to large chests and short-waisted women.

I am neither 45+ nor fat, but I do have some dresses from Boden I like. Op how much do you weigh?

I used to wear the jersey dresses to work in my 30s, back before perimenopause gave me a stomach pooch that is highly unflattering under clingy jersey. It was easy to wear, easy to care for, and didn't take a lot of effort when I was busy with young kids. Some prints are very casual, but some worked just fine for a business casual environment. The quality control is really lacking though.

I'm flat chested and do have to watch the v-necks. But they have a "tall size" that works really well for long-waisted people. I can't wear most dresses by most manufacturers because they are way too short-waisted for me.
