Started NC-IVF Today -- Any Advice?

SSRIs are a type of antidepressant (prosac, zoloft, etc.)

Does Zoloft affect female infertility??
Anonymous
I don't know - I was just researching for males.

FWIW I took zoloft up until I got pregnant then stopped it until 6 weeks post partum, my OB said it didn't affect fertility.

I had my first consult with Dr. DiMattina today for natural cycle, and I hope we can get all the prep work done and cycle next month. How long does it usually take to get things moving? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we need to do to get ready.

Pp what do you have to do to get ready? Curious how the process works.

There's blood work for both partners (Semen analysis for DH) then an HSG, HSC, and mock transfer for me all which need to be completed this month if we want to cycle with next menses.

I just met with Dr D today and I guess he didn't outline all these things... Is the mock embryo transfer included in their price? Is it 4400? Thanks!
Anonymous
I'm not sure but I don't think the preliminary stuff including the mock transfer is included in price, the 4400 is just for the actual cycle .

meant to say NOT included

Is a mock embryo transfer always necessary? If so weird it's not bundled up...

It's not included because it's a one-time procedure for the first NC-IVF cycle only. If you do a second (or third) cycle, you don't need to do (or pay for) another mock embryo transfer.

The mock is an extra $750, which I think is ridiculous given that it takes two minutes.

So agree with you.

I am going to do a NCIVF in Oct with Dr. D and they called to schedule all my pre tests a few days ago. Then yesterday billing called to tell me the mock transfer was not covered by my insurance and it is $750 extra. I was not told that at the consult and freaked out cause I thought we were going to have to cancel. I talked to the nurse this morning and she said I could opt out so I did. For me personally I have had two IVFs in the past so I felt fine not doing the mock transfer.
