Black coffee, tea, soft drinks, vegetable broth. Once you start chugging the prep in the afternoon, you probably won’t feel like consuming much else.

Mins says to start at 6pm. So I have a whole day of clear liquids.

You can’t go a day without eating?!?

You don’t need to go without eating. Briths are fine.

From 8pm one night, then a whole day and not again until the next afternoon? No, I prefer not to.

Why 8 pm? Have a late snack.

I’ve had trouble with clean outs, so I do a low residue (no seeds/nuts, low fiber, no roughage) diet for 10 days leading up to the test, and clear liquids only for 48 hours prior to the test. It’s fine. On the clear liquid days, I have broth, ginger ale, lemonade, ice pops (in yellow and green), jellos (in yellow and green). I also suck sour lemon drops while I drink the prep liquid.

Don’t forget - you can eat gummy bears (no red ones) during prep!

You can make your own jello with apple juice and it's so much better than the box. I think next time I'll try to make it with Ginger ale.

Fortunately you don’t represent the entire human population. Phew.

I didn’t do anything special 3 days before colonoscopy. I just ate my regular meals. I started Wednesday evening with duloclax and then liquids all day Thursday and my procedure was Friday at 3 pm. The process clears everything. I was not give any restrictions or recommendations for diet prior. I’m all clear for 5 years now.

Low fiber diet 3 days ahead. Did you not receive instructions for allowable foods regarding the day before? Follow the instructions you were given instead of crowd searching.

I just had my second colonoscopy this past week at 1pm and did fine. It was on Wednesday at 1pm.

Sunday & Monday: stopped eating nuts, quinoa, popcorn, corn, raw fruits and raw vegetables. Everything else was fine.

Tuesday: Ate breakfast & lunch that could only include clear liquids, non-red/orange drinks or jello, coffee or tea w/out milk, turkey or chicken w/out skin, creamy peanut butter, yogurt w/out fruit, non-pulp juice, white grape juice

Beginning 5-6pm, drank the nasty prep. Drank 32 oz of water in the next two hours.

Went to bed as usual around 11pm after staying close to the bathroom for a couple of hours.

At 8am (5 hours before procedure), did the prep & water again. Could have ginger ale, apple juice. All fine.

Stopped all liquids at 10am (3 hours before procedure)

I recommend eating the day you start the prep. I think that when you go 24 hours without eating before you start the prep, it’s so painful. I also recommend scheduling a noon or 1pm procedure time. It means you don’t have to get up in the middle of the night to take the prep again.

Again, it was relatively painless doing this. The hardest part for me was drinking that liquid prep. I know there are pills. Perhaps I will try that next time in 7 years, which is when I have to do it again.

Hope this helps. Good luck to everyone.
