Kelly for a boy?

They’ll probably think female if they see the name on paper and think trans when they meet them in person.

I love the name Kelly for a boy. When I was a kid, I was surprised to meet a girl Kelly, because it was a boy's name to me. I had a book featuring a boy named Kelly, is why.

Kelly would grow tired of saying his pronouns; he/him

I love it! Go for it. And nice homage to your family. I like it better as a boy's name than a girl's honestly.

I love Kelly as a boys name. Great idea. People rarely get a majority of positive feedback on these name threads - do it!

I’m a female Kelly and I get SO many “dear Mr. Lastname” work emails from people I’ve never met in person.

One of my best friends in high school was a male Kelly. We all called him “Kel”. They were Irish too. Ever since meeting him I loved the name Kelly for a guy. You can NN Kel or like others said, make Kelly the middle name

I love Kelly for a boy but you could do Kellen or Keller

Is it too female leaning now for a boy's first name?

Don't even worry about it. Chose a name you love.
