Official scoring was completed by early February. Everything else is up to the local competition manager sending out results. |
I'm sure it's "privacy" and not privacy. The MAA website says "We are hosting our statistics through our new platform. Find the reports for the AMC 10/12 A & B below. Please note that we have amended the information we publicly provide in these statistics for student privacy.". It's about halfway down the page, under the heading "Statistics for the AMC 10/12." https://maa.org/math-competitions/amc-1012 Obviously, the "privacy" reason is a load of BS, considering that the parents already had the option to give permission to release their kids' name, every single other contest publishes the winners' names, and they still list the names from previous years. My guess is that they didn't like the optics of the honor roll lists. |
But the optics of the old lists still exist. I think they aren't thinking about it all. They just said "privacy" is an excuse to not bother thinking about to set up honor rolls on the new system. This also tracks with how they reacted to the widespread advanced publication of the AMC 10 and AMC 12, by ignoring it. |
