Thanks. So, there is no official paper or anything indicating the score and name, or achievement. I see the name of kids of honor roll of the past AMC8 in the official website, so I guess that they eventually update the website to include the 2024 name list?
Nope. They stopped releasing the honor roll lists in the last 2 years due to "privacy concerns." This year, for the AMC 10 tests, they had a box that parents could check consenting to the release of their kid's name. I was hoping this would suffice to overcome MAA's "privacy concerns," and let them release the honor rolls. Apparently it isn't.
Are you sure it's "privacy"? It doesn't make sense that they'd keep the old lists up if they have privacy concerns. The disappearance of the honor rolls happened when they switched to the new data website edvistas.
I'm sure it's "privacy" and not privacy. The MAA website says "We are hosting our statistics through our new platform. Find the reports for the AMC 10/12 A & B below. Please note that we have amended the information we publicly provide in these statistics for student privacy.". It's about halfway down the page, under the heading "Statistics for the AMC 10/12." https://maa.org/math-competitions/amc-1012 Obviously, the "privacy" reason is a load of BS, considering that the parents already had the option to give permission to release their kids' name, every single other contest publishes the winners' names, and they still list the names from previous years. My guess is that they didn't like the optics of the honor roll lists.
But the optics of the old lists still exist. I think they aren't thinking about it all. They just said "privacy" is an excuse to not bother thinking about to set up honor rolls on the new system. This also tracks with how they reacted to the widespread advanced publication of the AMC 10 and AMC 12, by ignoring it.
