Madison HS vs Marshall HS - Rivalry Game 3/14

You can watch a replay of the game on NFHS website and do your own analysis. Games at this point in the season don't even matter for playoffs, so it's just really for pride if anything.

District games start after spring break and those matter for playoff seeding.

New high school parent here. In Concorde district. Can anyone tell me how the playoffs wor? Do all teams go to district playoffs? Do top 2 from districts go to regionals, and top 2 from regionals go to states, or is it just the regional champ?

Look at half the board posts and they are usually ECNL parents bashing their own coaches or some other club’s coaches. How is a parent commenting on the coach of a high school team any different? If anything the parent sounded like they were making an excuse for the loss. Big deal.

Not suggesting at all that coach bashing is prohibited; as you state that the essence of what this board is. Just pointing out that the poster went heavy on poor coaching, and that seemed more the intent than bragging about his or her kid.

Why isn’t high school soccer more prominent compared to club? Seems it must have some value if club players are willing to risk injury playing a couple of games a week for their school. It sounds like playing in high school is more about the social stature one gets off the field. Does playing for a state winning high school team mean anything to college coaches? How about individual offensive or defensive stats? It’s part of the building a resume, no?

Does watching a replay cost a ton of money? I travel a lot for work and sometimes am not able to be at the games.

Because the club directors say so. Pay attention to the town halls dummy.

Subscription is $10 a month or so to NFHS. This is not a commercial for it but the games are broadcast in this service

You must be about 15 years old. Why don't you move your internet presence over to TikTok before it goes away.

LOL! No one cares about boys soccer and no one really cares about girls high school soccer. You really posted here about "girls soccer high school rivalry game" so you could brag about your kid, the forward? That's pathetic.

Not a lot of confidence by the players in the coaching right now. The team has great individually talented players, but they don't play like a team. The only goal scored by Madison was an incredible individual effort by one of our forwards to dribble through the center of the defense leading to a 1:1 put away.

Marshall on the other hand played more like a team. Marshall's defense was incredibly effective at limiting some of Madison's better individual players, particularly on the wings. Marshall has an incredibly fast forward who put pressure on Madison's back line all game, and several times was released on some incredibly great punting by Marshall's goalie.

The game tightened up towards the end as Madison spent most of the final minutes on Marshall's side of the field, but Marshall's defense and goalie repelled several shots, yielding nothing. It was a great game, despite the result.

I honestly can't believe you started this post and then sockpuppeted to talk about girls high school soccer. No one cares except the parents.

Maybe but not as bad as the Langley parents on the Lacrosse forum. You’d think every last one of their kids is getting a D1 scholarship.

And at least there’s no report of any Madison or Marshall parents cheering when players on the other team were seriously injured.

Parents cheered at a high scool lacrosse game when a kid got injured?

At our middle class HS, lacrosse is the no-cut sport kids play when they don't make the other HS teams.
