I don’t use Zillow so I don’t know how this works, but does the realtor pick what goes in the “what’s special” section? The first listing is:
Detached home Granite countertop Remodeled kitchen Gas logs Peeling exterior paint |
| House #2 looks good. If I wanted a SFH in Springfield, that's a good option that doesn't break the bank. |

80 minute commute to DC, 495 literally in the backyard. Woof.
If you need to commute why in the world would you live there, and if you don't need to commute why in the world would you live there? |
Are you high? 80 minute commute? |
| I live twice as far away and my commute rarely takes 80 minutes. Springfield is definitely under an hour even on a bad day. |
| Nice enough starter houses for this area. I’m sure people from out of town would be shocked at what you get for the money. Is that still a thing or have other markets caught up? |
| Most people are moving because they want larger, nicer homes, not sh*t shacks. |
I know that area. At that junction, commute is 30 mts unless there's an accident on the highway. If you can use the HOV lanes it's faster than 30 mts. Good public transportation. I don't like ranch houses myself, and wouldn't want to live right on 495, but plenty of people live on very busy transportation hubs throughout the region, including Tysons Corner, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Kensington. Houses are very well priced. |
| I don’t have any cash for a down payment. Can I still buy this house? |
