Teen Venmo?

Anonymous
Your teen needs their own debit card, NOT to be asking friends to cover their lunch, even if they’re paying them back. Time to cut the cord.

Groups go out to lunch, and some places overseas (my DS is in Spain this spring) does not allow splitting checks. So one kid covers, the rest Venmo that kid.

I would appreciate guidance on this. So I have a 18 year old. We do feel we need to keep an eye for a bit longer in who he pays and for what. Drugs have been an issue in the past.

It seems Greenlight cannot be linked to Venmo. We gave Greenlight now and it’s great. But looks like we need to switch to a different debit card in order to have access to Venmo. People have mentioned other debit cards that parents can have full access to. What are these? Specifics would be very helpful
