| Mine went from about 100k to about 200k. DH from 80ish to about 200k. |
|
I think it would help if people put the year they were each age.
At age 30, I think I was around $45k in 2001. At age 40, I was probably around $70k. |
| 50k when I was 30, around 460k when I was 40. |
BTW we are 40 now. |
| At 30 I was in big law making around 185k. Now in my 40s and am a fed making around 170k. My life is much better now than then! |

Me: $450k DH: $120k 40 Me: $3M Dh: $95k (career change) But crazier than that was our net worth change: $2.2M to $19M |
| $120k at 30, currently at $180k at 37. Work for federal government, same agency |
| $30k to $40k. At age 36 I finally found an employer who paid their part required by law. It helped me get over the minimum wage. |
|
$20/hr at 30, part-time executive admin
150k/yr at 40, private industry 250k/yr at 50 (fed gov) |
|
30 = 26k (post-grad fellowship)
40 = 146k 48 = 216k |
|
I don't have records from when I was 30 readily available but here is what I have:
Age 32 (2013): $112K Age 42 (2023): $191K Another kinda sad data point is using an inflation calculator that $112K is worth $150K today so only a $41K increase in real dollars over 10 years. |
| We tripled our HHI in that 10-year period. |
Care to share your family's story, including what lead to the net worth change? |
| 100k at 30. 185k at 35. Will let you know how 40 goes |
