Income increase from 30 to 40

Mine went from about 100k to about 200k. DH from 80ish to about 200k.

I think it would help if people put the year they were each age.

At age 30, I think I was around $45k in 2001.
At age 40, I was probably around $70k.

50k when I was 30, around 460k when I was 40.

At 30 I was in big law making around 185k. Now in my 40s and am a fed making around 170k. My life is much better now than then!

$120k at 30, currently at $180k at 37. Work for federal government, same agency

$30k to $40k. At age 36 I finally found an employer who paid their part required by law. It helped me get over the minimum wage.

$20/hr at 30, part-time executive admin
150k/yr at 40, private industry
250k/yr at 50 (fed gov)

30 = 26k (post-grad fellowship)
40 = 146k
48 = 216k

I don't have records from when I was 30 readily available but here is what I have:

Age 32 (2013): $112K
Age 42 (2023): $191K

Another kinda sad data point is using an inflation calculator that $112K is worth $150K today so only a $41K increase in real dollars over 10 years.
