Income increase from 30 to 40

How much did your income increase from age 30 to 40? I was just looking at mine (doing tax stuff) and my income at 30 was $63,000 and my income at 40 is $143,000. I mommy tracked hard for about 6 years while I had 3 kids and then started moving up the management chain.

My husbands income has gone from $175,000 at 30 to $510,000 at 40.

$70k at 30 to $92k at 40. Not at your level

$105k at 30 and $205k and 43 with $30k annual bonus. Went into management at a smaller company

At 28 I made 72. At 33 I made 85. At 40 I made 55. Career change to have a more parent friendly schedule. I'm still sort of bitter.

At 30, I was making around $60k and DH made $100k. We are now 40, and this year, I’ll make $550k and DH will make $200k

I was an assistant professor, making $45k at age 30. At 40, I was in private sector, making around $450k.

Op here - I should probably have added profession in the original post.

I am a manager in grants and contracts at the state level. DH is a private lawyer.

About $120K at 30, about $270K at 40. Same company, same line of work, just moved up the ranks.

Still at the same place at 50, with $300K.

Mine went from 60 to 80. My husband went from about 80 to 230. It’s nice to be a man I guess.

I was in law school at age 30, so my income was about -$60k per year. By age 40 I was at $400k per year.

Man. I was working part time at 30 with my first kid and income was negligible. Started a $65k postdoc at 31, now making around $120k as a 38 year old fed. I will never multiply income the way you all have in government!
