Who are the buyers for these things? I drive by all the time and wonder. I can't imagine having this much money and then buying a hideous mansion on a loud and busy road.

Major road, air traffic noise, it’s insane to build in that location

C’mon the dude has solar panels on entire back roof. He is environmentally responsible and pays nothing to the power company vs your 1200 sq town house.

I was actually on that property when the tear down was still there. It goes way back there was a huge backyard and pool in back and really quiet.

That house is walking distance town. What I don’t like is sidewalk on other side of river road so to walk to town have to cross street with no light. Even to go for walk or anything got to her to other side river road for sidewalk

My daughter went to a sweet 16 party in one of those super big houses. The Dad had professionals organize a game of life sized Clue they had all the rooms on the game in the house. Parents were so cool. Later that year they invited my daughter and a few friends to go to the mall to see a movie and get fast food in food court and picked her up in a stretch Rolls Royce Limo, sadly my daughter lost touch.

Ha. And y’all say we can’t convert SFHs to duplexes - you could be living next to an apartment building there.

I live near there. No one needs that much space. it's absurd.

So how much space does one need? Bonus courage points for naming a number that's different from your own living situation.

Potomac is light years ahead on MM. It has all sorts of housing types to cater to a variety of people who feel like something is missing from the housing stock -- 60,000 sq ft mansions, 30,000 sq ft mansions, 10,000 sq foot mansions, 7000 st ft mcmansions, and 5000 sq ft townhouses.

The 5,000 sf townhomes in Potomac are for dog walkers, yoga instructors and barristers
