24-25 coaches announcements

I would say April will be when you start seeing full lists. Clubs are probably trying to get new coaches in place now and moving people around internally. Coaches seem to be moved on and off teams every few years.

What purpose would that be?

Best advice; hope everyone takes it.

Happens all the time. Always be skeptical when a TD is listed as the coach, especially if the TD didn’t have that year/age group the year prior.

Exactly, TD and Club Directors are always place holders until they hire someone to fill those coaching spots. A lot of these clubs are not that organized. Usually, the coaching slates for regular travel teams tend to be out by early April so you get an idea of who the coaches will be when tryouts occur.

Depends on club. My club plans on announcing coaches after the kick off whistle of our first game.

SYC is slow rolling the list out. For the boys side, only the 2012 and 2011 coaches have been announced. It is a strategic move. Mr. Fantastic is moving to Alexandria and does not have the credentials to coach the 2012 MSL Next so they gave it to the MLS Next director. The 2011 MLS Next has been a crap show since Spring 2023. The current coach will be the coach for next season. Half the kids on that current team is looking to leave. And the coach has already threaten them he has enough players that he does not need any of them.

Email the director and ask. Typically they know who they are potentially going to have coach the teams.

I do think majority of clubs would know who the coaches are at tryouts. We had one coach bail right after tryouts but i think majority of the time they stick around.

Why are they looking to leave? Thought they were doing better with the new coach. Saying you have others in the waiting list doesn't really seem a good way to get players to stay. Is it more of being unhappy with results or the fact that the coach/player relationship isn't strong?

The team is winning and for those parents that is all that matters, that the team is winning and that their kid is on the top team. If you at their skills it does not compare to some of the other local teams. There is only one style of play and that is playing the long ball.

That's disappointing, I thought the syc boys side relied on physicality but also looked to control the game and had gotten away from the long ball style. Is it just this team?

Look at the current roster for SYC 2011B. The coach is profiling for certain physical attributes.
