So are Dems in NoVa going to upset Trump primary?

Who cares? Haley won DC, and that is basically a black mark against her for purposes of her go forward campaign and credibility among GOP voters. Same thing if she won VA based on votes from NoVa.

Oops the mask slipped.

Is the point of Dems voting for her in the Republican primary because she’ll be easier for Biden to beat in the general election?

Because I don’t understand the point otherwise. Can someone explain it?

You don't have to register for a political party in Virginia, so anyone can vote in any primary (but only one primary).

This is a political tactic used all the time. How do you think Cantor lost his primary several years ago? Because people organized to vote for Bratt, thinking he would lost in the general election, and then he won it. Opps.

Piss on anyone who considers a vote against Trump to be a "black mark."

What mask? It’s objectively true that most of the country dislikes DC. It’s bipartisan.

You are fatally clueless. It’s not about being a vote against Trump. It’s about being the choice of the party elite in DC, which isn’t exactly popular. Nobody outside of DC will be too upset when McConnell retires, for example.

Exactly this.

I’m a strong Dem and I voted for Nikki. I’d rather there be two decent options in November.

I'm not going to vote tomorrow. But if I did, I'd vote for Nikki Haley not because she's 'more beatable' (I don't think she is), but because the idea of a Haley presidency is palatable to me. A second Trump term would be awful.

Me too. I know rationally my vote for Haley won’t make a difference but it’s a vote I feel good about, unlike when I vote in November and my options are Trump or Biden.

I tried in 2016. Didn't help - he still ended up on the ticket. Too many fcking idiots in VA/US.

Why bother? Lots of low information voters in the rest of the state to cancel any votes for Haley out. It will probably sow more chaos and financial ruin for the Republican party if Trump wins anyhow.

So are Dems going to ask for Republican ballot and vote for Vivek or Christie (who are still on the ballot) just to try to make Trump lose Virginia?

They should. Civic duty isn't limited to picking between candidates two parties push on you but also helping parties pick better candidates to run.

I did this too. I’m voted for Kasich last time. I’ll vote for Haley this time. It won’t make a difference but I’ll take every opportunity I can to vote against Trump.
