DC Residents: Are you going on vacation in November, or January?

Anonymous
You want the National Guard to protect you? Really?

Anyway, I don't think there will be an insurrection. But, inaugurations have been increasingly violent, and I would expect massive protests regardless of who wins. We've moved. But if I were still there, I would leave. No question.

Democrats should move oversees now. Come November there will be a mad dash to relocate driving up real estate prices in Europe. Australia and elsewhere. Now is the time to move ahead of the prices rising.

You are in more danger of being robbed blind in DC (or carjacked) than being attacked by anyone voting in a way you don't approve.

I would be more concerned about the violent protests that will happen if Trump wins..... like in 2016.

I came here to say this. If Trump wins, I fully expect the city to burn. And unlike republicans that took it to the Capitol only, these mostly peaceful protesters will set homes and businesses alight.

I noticed the uptick in non-DC residents on the dating apps during the insurrection. Is there a way to predict it with the increase is cell phone usage on the towers?

I prefer to be safe, rather than sorry. DC cannot afford another insurrection, in November, or January.

If Biden wins he will serve and if he loses he will concede. He is a normal American president. Relax.

I mean, if the Supreme Court rules for presidential immunity, the Joe should unleash Seal Team 6 and round up all of the "enemies"

And, this is why we have seen this president weaponize the DOJ and FBI. Because his supporters actually WANT HIM TO. He knows he will not be held accountable by his voters OR the media.

And the other reason why we have the 2nd Amendment. Because if Joe even tries this, boy howdy, I would hate be a anti-gun progressive in the cross fire.

OP here. I am applying for a gun license a few days before the election, just in case.

Everything with Trumpsters is a projection.

OP, if you are really concerned then get involved. There are phonebanks to join, voter registration efforts to contribute funds to, postcards to write, doors to knock.

If you are doing that, hurray!
If you aren’t, get going.
Start by donating $10 to Biden’s campaign to get on mailing list for opportunities. Or, find a House or race you are interested in and volunteer.

You can’t knock door when you are so busy wringing your hands.

You honestly have lost the thread if you believe this.

We realize that you (not an actual DC resident obviously) really hope this thread convinces DC residents to be afraid and take up arms if Trump wins. Not going to happen. We stayed home and obeyed the law last time, we will do the same this time. It made it much easier for LE to identify and round up the actual MAGA law breakers.

Why do you think OP Isn’t an actual DC resident?

Your first link is to a photo of what appears to be a very small LGBTQ+ protest with no sign of violence at all. Just the link to the photo you provide has the word "violent" for no apparent reason.

The other two are video of the small but destructive, black bloc, anarchist group (the ones in black) that staged a protest during Trump's inauguration -- they were not Biden supporters or "liberals." They also were also in a different part of the city from the inauguration. They were arrested and prosecuted.

The world-wide protests against Trump specifically were peaceful. No one attempted an insurrection.

Are you familiar with the black bloc anarchists you show in this photo? They are anti-government, anti-capitalism. They were not "for" Biden or Trump.
