+1 My high stats daughter chose Binghamton OOS over some “fancier” options and hasn’t ever regretted her decision. |
| Honors programs are often better at many campuses so I would cross Michigan off. Priority for dorms, classes, better opportunities to work with professors. |
| Michigan if you can swing the $80-$85k per year. |
| Would she be happy with data science? My CS/robotics kid would not be, so that works rule out Michigan. |
| I vote Bing! Can’t beat that in-state tuition. Does your child favor any particular school? |
| Where should you send her? What about where she wants to go? |
Agree first answer was the best answer |
| Why has no one said Toronto? T20 globally and incredible CS program. I vote Toronto. |
Agree. |
Of the schools listed it’s similarly ranked besides Michigan. The reality is every top 50 school in CS is excellent. |
| Toronto. Great univ in great city. Most Americans have zero knowledge of Canada & don’t know how good their universities are. |
|
If she plans to stay in NY - Binghamton is a great deal. But, it does not have a national reputation.
Michigan is she strongest of the schools listed. |
| Michigan; Toronto second if she is sure she wants CS. |
|
Toronto outranks the rest
#2 choice Binghamton |
This plus the experience of living in another country is a wonderful one. Toronto if she can graduate debt free. Bing otherwise. |
