What’s going on with the theocratic intrusion in our laws?

It’s about science conflicting with religion. And common sense. What happens to the 20-50 million frozen embryos in the US? Are the companies holding them liable for murder if they somehow accidentally unfreeze? Can I move to Alabama and get a bunch of embryos and claim them as dependents? Dummy.

You invalidated your own argument (as if you ever had one) when you said accidentally unfroze. You can move anywhere you want and claim anything you want. Doesn’t mean it’s yours. I can claim your dog is mine.
Dummy.

I like how you casually gloss over the enormous ramifications of this ruling lol. I guess Dunning Kruger prevails and ignorance is bliss. All is well. All those stupid women wanting to get pregnant through IVF or those pesky fertility companies can kick rocks. In no way will OB’s want to further flee that bastion of maternal care that is Alabama. I mean ya know because the infant mortality rate as is, isn’t fine.

I’m not religious, but there are guiding principles that both religious and non-religious people follow that are in agreeance.
Do you condemn the 10 commandments?

Do you condemn IVF?

I do as it is the manufacturing of children. Also, if it were banned there would be no issue that would have come up such as in Alabama.

Oh boy! I've had the luck to be able to conceive naturally, but this is just insidious.

US is much too laxed on IVF and surrogacy.

Your religious beliefs don’t take precedence over mine. Stop trying to push your beliefs on others.

Should we have the church screen the people who want to do either?

Good, so you agree that there is no need for ivf since they are one and the same.

So can I take my embryos and drive in the HOV lane? Can I come down to backwoods Alabama with a couple thousand embryos and claim them as dependents and get some tax benefits.

What if there is a fire and I have to grab one thing in one hand. You know I have a Petri dish of embryos in one hand and my 1 year old daughter in the other. Which one do I save? Ha ha you folks really can’t game this out can you?

Would the fertility clinics be liable for murder if some of their embryos were destroyed or unfroze? You all live in a fantasy land.

Part of this must be about “punishing the gays” who rely on IVF.

What's one and the same????

Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything about IVF. You know, science has evolved tremendously since the time it was compiled. Also, if IVF is "manufacturing children" is treating diabetes just prolonging the life of someone who God condemned. GTFOH

Again, read and learn that not only do non-religious people believe it’s unethical. Get it through your pea brain.

How is it “unethical” from a non-religious perspective?
Anonymous
There are over a million frozen embryos in the U.S. Something like 20% to 25% are
"abandoned." That is the "parents" no longer want them and are not paying the bills to keep them frozen. However, the freezer companies don't know what to do with them. Under Alabama law, would they be guilty of murder if they tossed them?
How about the "parents"? Can they be charged with child neglect or
abandonment? What a can of worms we have here.

Blame biology, I did not nor did anyone else decide that it takes male and female anatomy to make a baby.
