What’s it like dealing with a kid with lifelong depression?

OP I was depressed my whole life and it turned out that what I was missing was male attention. My dad died when I was young and I never had boyfriends. Once I did, depression went away. Teach your daughter relationship skills it may help her more than you can imagine. Like it or not this is still a patriarchy and it really helps to have a relationship with a good boy or man (if she is straight).

+1 this too. A huge component is hormonal. Huge. This only became clear to me when I developed PMDD during perimenopause.
