Oh honey, do you really think folks hate Mcps that much who don't actually have kids enrolled? But sadly it just sucks now and yes have kids in the system...but not for long. I also attended Mcps schools. Read the room... |
| Would you feel differently about this policy if it was a secular private? |
| I have two friends who withdrew from two different local catholic schools mid-year. They only made them pay to finish out trimester tuition. They were off the hook for remainder of tuition. It seems to be an unwritten policy. |
I'd quadruple check that, OP.. |
+1 |
| OP here. We took the catholic school spot. Will give it a try this first year and hopefully we will love it. |
No, why? Would be worse as it would be more money to loose |
Mcps has a nudge deficit and talking about cuts. |
Huge |
| First child went all the way through MCPS, but saw clear signs of school academic deterioration year by year. Next child started in MCPS, but enough obvious academic deterioration year by year that moved them to private in late elementary. Third child went private the whole way through; not willing to gamble and had seen enough deterioration. This was in a W pyramid of MCPS. Very sad, but MCPS today is not as good quality as it used to be. No idea what happened, but the devolution was quite clear, and it was obvious before Covid. |
Good luck!!! |
OP here. This is where we are sort of. First two in MCPS. Oldest in HS and will finish there. Middle kiddo in MS but we are considering private for HS and then third kid I think we are doing private starting in K. Feel terribly guilty in some ways but definitely MCPS isnt what it used to be. What are some of the declining signs you noticed year after year? |
I also withdrew two kids from two different Catholic schools and I had to finish the tuition payments for the year per the contract. |
| Which schools? |
