First child went all the way through MCPS, but saw clear signs of school academic deterioration year by year. Next child started in MCPS, but enough obvious academic deterioration year by year that moved them to private in late elementary. Third child went private the whole way through; not willing to gamble and had seen enough deterioration. This was in a W pyramid of MCPS. Very sad, but MCPS today is not as good quality as it used to be. No idea what happened, but the devolution was quite clear, and it was obvious before Covid.
OP here. This is where we are sort of. First two in MCPS. Oldest in HS and will finish there. Middle kiddo in MS but we are considering private for HS and then third kid I think we are doing private starting in K. Feel terribly guilty in some ways but definitely MCPS isnt what it used to be. What are some of the declining signs you noticed year after year?
