This. Hope scores are getting locked down. |
Yes I thought that too. That a local committee met each month for non-IV applications? |
Local committee meets at end of every school year to determine level II/III students for the NEXT school year. Meeting every months would be a logistic nightmare for the teachers who has to plan for level II/III kids. |
I just asked our AART, she said we can pick up the copy of application package for our kid on 2/21/2024. We are in 20171. |
They do meet and review the whole school, but if you submit an application they have to review within a month. |
Yep. My friend did this with both her kids. Would send the AART and classroom teacher emails of things her children did outside of school to "extend their learning." Both her kids got in. |
lol - her kids didn’t get in bc she harassed the teacher and AART. don’t do this ppl. |
My DD is at a center school. The AART advised you can request anytime for level 2 or 3 review. You can get an answer within 30 days. My DD was moved into advance math mid December. |
We'll never know. |
It’s March so they should be meeting this month |
How is this a bad thing? It seems preciated on the notion that teacher's don't care about their student's education to the point where any information about it is considered "harassment". |
No, it’s predicated on the notion that YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER AND THE AART aren’t remotely aware of how “gifted” your kid is unless you aggressively inform them. If you think your school is that bad you should be moving or looking at private school. Or just appeal for LIV if your kid doesn’t get in and save the teacher some time and preserve some dignity. |
Yes results early April now |
It's usually Friday right before spring break. I know spring break is early this year but somebody who said they worked at a school indicated it would still be then. So..in like 19 days? |
Good to know! |
