Goodwin House assisted living?

My dad has been there for 6 months. Everyone has been great. He has friends to spend time with and the employees are great. My experiences have been very positive. The employees monitor my dad very closing and he appreciates them in his own grumpy manner. Once you get over the shock of the cost is been a very pleasant experience.

The management and administration staff are not good. They have limited outside experience and it shows. They also don't seem very friendly.

I disagree! I have a parent there (independent living) and am always struck by the culture of courtesy and caring throughout the building. Lots of activities (ranging from “sit and watch this live stream of a bird feeder” to “lecture on European geopolitics by Former Ambassador X”), friendly people, good food.

I especially appreciate the ways they support downsizing — you can borrow flower vases from the art room, they’ll set up a spare bed if you have an overnight guest, there’s a whole closet of equipment you can borrow (from crockpot to walker). Basically all those things your parents refuse to get rid of, saying “But I might need this…”

PP, the activities, residents and staff are great. My comment was only about the management team and administration.
