Nope. Nope. Nope. Living near a decent public pool is a yes. Having one in my home. No.

The pool would not be the reason I wouldn’t buy this house. Interesting choices.

If you did have a therapeutic need I guess it would be a great to find a house that already has an indoor pool.

I had an older relative with polio who built an above ground therapy pool thing in an outbuilding and by all accounts it was hugely helpful.

Outbuilding is the key word.

The smell of chlorine, humidity and mold in your living space are overwhelming. Houses have stack effect and you can’t just close the door

They built a separate room that also contained a hot tub sauna and exercise area that was garden level and walked out onto their deck (had glass doors). They never had any mold issues at all, but they maintained it well and it had a lot of light and airflow. It was great durinb Covid and great as where they live they have long winters. It was great because we could all swim laps when we visited. They had tile on the floor and the room was filled with plants. My FIL took really good care of it though. They recently sold the home as it was too big, but both say they miss the pool. They also had a wood stove in there to help dry the room.

Would I buy a home with an indoor pool? I don’t know and if I did I would have a mold test but if I knew the previous owners or wanted to put one in I would put in a lap pool as it’s smaller.

This is the ideal situation. So yes, in this case I would definitely like an indoor pool.
