Would you buy a house with an indoor pool? I like this listing but I think an indoor pool would be costly to maintain.

| Your home insurance will be theough the roof. |
| The streetview alone is worth clicking on the link. Those pups are too much!! |
+1 and mold from the humidity would be pretty bad. |
Oh yes! So cute!! |

Yes, I would buy a house with an indoor pool. In this area, it's way more usable than an outdoor pool. I don’t see why maintenance or insurance should be different - this is clearly in a 3 season room, not the main house.
DCUM really hates pools. We bought our house with an outdoor pool despite its having a pool (did not want) but it's been great and my only complaint is the short outdoor season. |
| Dcum loves pools. The indoor ones in DMV suck. And yes between mold and chlorine a terrible idea |
| I’d love an indoor pool. But I like pools. |
| I like pools too. But the houses with indoor pools in DMV suck |
| Every one we looked at had deferred maintenance and mold. |
| Indoor pools are a significant liability. They also stink. I wouldn’t even look at a house with one. |

My in laws had an indoor endless lap pool in the Midwest. They built a separate room that also contained a hot tub sauna and exercise area that was garden level and walked out onto their deck (had glass doors). They never had any mold issues at all, but they maintained it well and it had a lot of light and airflow. It was great durinb Covid and great as where they live they have long winters. It was great because we could all swim laps when we visited. They had tile on the floor and the room was filled with plants. My FIL took really good care of it though. They recently sold the home as it was too big, but both say they miss the pool. They also had a wood stove in there to help dry the room.
Would I buy a home with an indoor pool? I don’t know and if I did I would have a mold test but if I knew the previous owners or wanted to put one in I would put in a lap pool as it’s smaller. |
| The inside is way nicer than the outside. I would drive right by this house but the interior is pretty great. I dont understand why the pool surround is so much large than the pool. It's not like you are going to sit in a chaise lounge and get sun. |

That particular pool doesn’t look fun enough to deal with maintaining to me unless you have a therapeutic need.
If you did have a therapeutic need I guess it would be a great to find a house that already has an indoor pool. I had an older relative with polio who built an above ground therapy pool thing in an outbuilding and by all accounts it was hugely helpful. |
| I think that would be pretty cool! I wouldn’t have wanted it when my kids were little, but they’re tweens now and good swimmers and I think it would be pretty great to have our own indoor pool. |
