| PP, do you know where in MoCo? It's so hard to find practice locations on the club websites. |
They don't list the practice locations on websites. But you can see where clubs are based out of. |
| I don't need exact locations but I'm trying to figure out what part of MoCo Liverpool and Next Level are in. I can't find that on their websites. (Obviously I can email the coaches but just wondered if anyone here knew.) |

If I am in your shoes, my top priority would be to find the right level and league. The second is strong coaches. The third is environment and culture.
If ECNL is not the target then I would focus on GA or an EDP teams that plays at a high level. My daughter played on an EDP team thru 9th grade and her team would routinely beat ECNL and GA-level teams. Find a place that she will play significant minutes and be challenged. Find a coach with a track record of developing players and a coach who is a good fit with your daughter's personality. Elite travel soccer is a huge time such for you and your kid. You don't want to dread showcases that require you to spend time with parents that you find annoying. Even worse is if your daughter does not bond with the players and ends up wanting to quit. |
I don't think either operate in MoCo. I thought next level was out of Baltimore. If you want to play in college, it's Bethesda, or PPA in MoCo. Maybe FCGB. |
| If you want to play college: ECNL then GA, then EDP… anyone who tells you differently is wrong. |

Don't worry about the league/club/team. Go take a look at multiple options. Find a team where your daughter isn't the best player nor the worst player. Get better at each practice. Find a team she enjoys playing on.
Going to college is about the effort she puts into the process. Reaching out to coaches and getting her highlights video out there. Go to ID camps. Is it a money grab? Yes and no. For most of the girls at ID camps, they're not treating it as a tryout. For the ones who do stand out, the coaches are looking for talent. There are the diamonds in the rough who show up at college ID camp who don't play [insert letter league here] and impress coaches. But the most important thing. Don't force your daughter to treat this as a job. It's recreation which could help with college. Or it may not. She's only going to be 14 or 15 this year and she won't get it back. Enjoy her team, enjoy going to practice, enjoy playing games. Don't hate doing this for the possibility "to play in college". |
Such great advice, that so few will listen to. Let your DD pick the team she likes. |
