You people are so silly. This project calls for the famous strategy called the process of elimination. We list the species we are pretty sure it WASN’T. Whichever species is not on the list at the end of the session is obviously the culprit. I’ll start:

Aardvark
Anteater
Armadillo

Beaver…..

I think a larger raccoon climbing up on top the can could cause it to knock over. If there was just one trash bag weight of a moving animal on the top would do it pretty easily I think. I've had mine once or twice tip over when I was awkwardly putting heavier trash in so the weight was pushing against the front edge.
