Wear a cute wig or hat.

My hair got thinner for the first 2 months, which is expected, then I started to notice it getting thicker again about 3 months in. Now 5 months in, it's nice and thick at the roots, creating volume, but am waiting for it to grow so the density reaches the length. Every chop that gets better.

Is oral minoxidil a miracle drug? Seems everyone is saying it works

Not a miracle drug, it didn’t work for me. I was on 1.25mg and after six months my doctor agreed he didn’t see a difference, and he didn’t think we should up the dosage.

I'd like to hear from those on it for 5 years. Whether they are still as enthusiastic about it.

You do have to continue it for ever. Idea of taking it orally for decades stops me from starting it.

This is a good and inexpensive camouflaging product, also available at Amazon and Walmart etc.

Hair extensions are also a more discreet option than full on wigs.

Question for those on oral rogain. Does the hair grow long or just short stubby hairs? I have curly hair and the frizz would be horrible but I really need to do something.

How do you see the views? People thought Ozempic wasn’t life changing until it was popularized…once people recognize that oral minoxidil words, more people will comment.

I am on it. I posted above (I get mine from musely) and do a low dose. It has changed my confidence so much! I had very thin hair at the crown and in front and both have filled in. I've been on it since Fall of 2022 and the hairs are now long. I agree that the thought of being on it forever is weird but I figure even if I stay on it just my working years (probably another 5-10 years) maybe that's enough. But I am vain and have done plenty of other things my whole adult life- mascara, shaving my legs, etc...

A good cut is essential. I color mine which gives some added thickness to my existing very fine hair, and I have very strategic highlights that make it look fuller. I also style every day - to add volume. It’s a pain but I get a decent result.

There is another thread where a couple of people reported heart palpitations while on it. My derm said to google side effects when she offered it to me and was kind of noncommittal about side effects on the heart (it’s a low dose so probably won’t hurt) so I passed.

I'm considering staying on it because it's such a low burden. Half a pill once a day. I haven't had side effects yet so I don't intend to stop it unless I start to have issues.
