Hot flashes due to menopause

Op I’m 53 and haven’t had them yet. Also getting my period although not noticeably regularly since I’m on iud (for heavy periods). I do occasionally get hot and sweaty in bed at night through so maybe that’s it? But from what I hear they are pretty unmistakable.

I’m definitely going to try HRT if I feel it’s going to help. There are many health benefits (including muscle and heart health) to it and women have been poorly served by bad information about the risks based on flawed analayses and older protocols.
