| They have no way of making kids pay the $5. |
+1. BCC has had problems with BCC students not outsiders. This doesn't help at all. |
Well, the good news is they have access to their ID's on their phone. Surely they will not forget their phones. Great idea. |
They hold graduation hostage. |
This is usually the threat, at all high schools, for non-payment of fees. Not sure if it's ever enforced, though. |
No it is not . Very inequitable. |
|
Can you imagine the headline. Students denied graduation over an overdue library book or a $5 fee. |
It appears the school itself is stating it as if it is new based on what I read in the article |
| The ID checks at the door are NOT new. If the article says that, it is wrong. As others stated earlier, the only new thing is what happens when a kid forgets their picture id. Before today, they could go to the front desk and get a temporary one, which didn't have a photo. As of today, they have to get a new picture one at the front desk and pay $5 for it. That is the only new thing. No impact -- none -- on staffing at the door |
With the BCC kids passing out in the bathrooms or jacking cars during lunch break I guess it's probably for the best. |
Your child is now the property of Carl's Jr.... |
It happens. It doesn’t make headlines, but it does occur. And can you imagine being so irresponsible that you can’t even pay back $5.00 or return an overdue library book. And don’t tell me a single student in the county can’t afford to pay back five dollars. That’s a Starbucks drink, a fast food order. |
| Wait until Will Jwando hears about this -he will get things right........ |
They say that, but it doesn't actually happen. Just another random rule that admin/teachers are expected to enforce, without any meaningful consequences. It's how MCPS works. |
