BCC will ask for student id for entry

This must be the PTA. Good idea until parents complain after their kid forgets their IDs and then it’s no longer convenient.

They have been doing this at bcc for a while already.

Our MCPS high school already does this--kids have IDs on lanyards.

What school ?

This isn’t new at BCC. The change is that they’ll now have to pay for a provisional ID and before they were just given one (my son forgot his one day and was given a pass to get back in after lunch - now he’d have to pay $5).

As if. They're just stretching staff more.

No staffing up needed because these ID checks aren’t new. MoCo Show needs something to write about. This change is only relevant to BCC students and not actual news!

They're not. Staff is already overworked.

My kid’s school has been doing this already. No big deal.

No HS kid here just curious:

If he didn’t leave for lunch would he have to pay?

Logistically how does ID check work? Does it slow down entry at all or is it like walking into Costco and showing your card?

The criminals are BCC are BCC students, so I don't see how this helps.
