If your player gets to high school or college, batting gloves matter. Thickness of glove, bat handle...

But, yes air them out.

Preferred Mizuno. Thin, wore out quickly, but light and great grip for sweaty hands.

The smell comes from fungus growing on damp leather. Spare with deorderizing/anti-fungal spray for sneakers.

Yep, I guarantee some kid would love them, stink or not. I witness plenty of gross boy behavior in the dugout. Even as teens they are switching sweaty gear around

I would love some BB gloves! I dont mind the sweaty, crunching gloves, matter in fact, my son would love the smell since he dosent shower, like ever! LOL!

OP here. Funny this thread got brought back up. Son gave the BBs to another kid on his team, who was thrilled to get them. They were not crunchy and I was glad someone else could use them.
