Do you believe in ghosts?

They're not ghosts. They're evil angels working for Satan to trick people.

I always thought I'd be scared, but something woke me up in the night, need to pee, whatever, and I looked, and a woman with her back to me was standing by my DH closet. As soon as I sat up, she started slowly walking across my room towards the door, and I noticed she had a scarf on her head, the way my old nanny used to. Right before she got to the door, she started to disappear. I was never scared, just curious. I think she was there to protect me. I'm expecting and having some difficulties..

Who knows...my DH thinks I dreamnt it, but I know what I saw and I believe in ghosts.

I read through all of these, and the only one that gave me chills was this one. Not necessarily in a bad something evil way. Just in a there's something to this way.

I should add that shortly after my old nanny passed away, I happened to wander in to Holy Trinity Church in Gtown and they had a choir singing. It was late afternoon, and the sun was coming in through some of the windows in a really amazing way. I looked up, and I swear I could feel her presence there with me, like she wanted me to stay. After a few minutes I realized I was crying and it was a good cry, not a sad cry. Interestingly, although I'm Catholic, I don't actually go to church regularly (just on special holidays/occasions) and on that particular day, there was no reason for me to be at church, something just pulled me in as I was walking to class at Gtown.

I have never told anyone other than my DH either of these incidents.

I have had some pretty crazy paranormal experiences before. I always was fascinated by them, but not until I was in college did I experience something on my own.

I still don't know how I feel about the term "ghost". I prefer paranormal, because I don't know what it is and it cannot be explained. I feel like "ghost" is right up there with Vampire and Werewolf. Spirit feels better and not as hollywoodified yet.

I believe that some people are so stupid and gullible that when they die, rather than just decompose like everyone else, their souls are trapped in this world until they can learn the ability to distinguish fact from fiction.

Absolutely. I was helping my neighbor and her mom set the dining room for a formal meal. 12 place settings. When the first ten were on the table, we went back into the kitchen to retrieve the last two. When we took the last two into the dining room, someone/something had changed the first ten place settings to a different set of china!!!!!!! All 3 of us saw it, no one could possibly have changed those place settings in two minutes.

Last night, my son's toy played the ABC song three times between midnight and 2 am.

It was in another room, and I could hear it very clearly. And no, the batteries are just fine. So it wasn't a mechanical malfunction. And it's never happened before.

I brought it into my bedroom and shut it off.

I'm giving the toy away today.

I feel stupid admitting that I do, but I do. A friend of mine worked for awhile leading "ghost tours" in New Orleans and some of the stories she told me - personal experiences - were really freaky.

I tend to think that if we believe in souls, which are a non-tangible thing, that it's not illogical to think that the soul doesn't always die along with the physical body, and that it might linger. (same goes for heaven: if we believe in heaven and hell, it's reasonable to think that people might not always get there right away.)

No. And folks, "feeling a presence" isn't proof of anything, other than an active imagination.

Your world is black and white b/c you obviously fear the unknown.

I prefer to live in gray.

Oh, yes, it is, when you feel that presence grab you and keep you and keep you from falling into covered up well hole with rotten wood.

I prefer to live in reality.

Way too many personal experiences to say otherwise.

For example?

I have had some experiences before. I don't know about "ghosts" but they were unexplainable experiences.

DH and I talk about this. I believe string theory talks about other dimensions. I have heard about the possibility of parallel universes as well (in regards to string theory). So lets say they do exist. Perhaps certain areas on our planet are where the two universes overlap. Perhaps you are seeing or hearing or feeling yourself or people in the same place at the same time as you in another universe.

Similar to a PP, I saw a couple of ghosts in the house where I grew up. I had to pee in the middle of the night, and woke up and saw two ghosty people, a man and woman. They were talking to each other in a language I didn't understand. I was not scared at all - I remember thinking I didn't want to disturb them, but I really really needed to pee. So I got up, and when I came back I was relieved to see they were still there. I stared at them for a while, they didn't seem to notice me, and then I went back to sleep. I told my mom about it the next day, and she says that my recollection is consistent with what I told her back then.
