Do you think everything has become too complicated?

Things get complicated because we analyze too much.

Yes! I miss my directv and DVR where I had all my favorite movie saved. I admit, I still keep my dvds and blu-rays of favorite movies so I can watch them without paying for them twice.

hahah yes!

netflix's best days were 2003-2008 i swear. $9.99/mo, 3 DVDs at a time, unlimited. new releases always came out on tuesdays and i knew the day to return my rentals in the mail to get the new tuesday release.

I just do without. We just have regular cable. If it’s not on there, oh well, I’ll find something else to do.

I agree op!!! I'm trying to get rid of cable now because the bill increased to $215 a month it's sooooo complicated..

A family member ditched tv altogether and he seems so happy and busy with various hobbies now. I may need to follow suit.

I don't want to sign up for another service (even if it is free for 30 days) just to watch a movie. It's gotten so splintered that many of my friends haven't seen anything I have and vice versa.

Then, services you already pay for tack on additional charges for movies that are years old! You can't even go back and watch an oldie but goodie without paying another $5. Or pay extra to get rid of commercials. Etc.

Wish someone would just come up with a one-stop-shop with a complete smorgasbord of all content, and then we could just choose and pay-as-you-go. The latest blockbuster movie- pay $20. One episode of an old TV show -pay nothing but have commercials. The obscure foreign film - $3.

Google Search for the media, and it will tell you where you can rent it.
Most everything is available somewhere for either $5 to watch, or for $20/month or less. Some is free with ads.

Make an account in every site, and pay for which one you need right now, for the minimum term (one show or one month).

So...
Cable TV?

I predicted this from the beginning and we are still in the infancy of platforms, this will get exponentially more difficult. It’s such a treat to go to my parents turn on the tv and within seconds I’m scanning my favorite channels I have memorized since I was a kid. TV used to be such a treat.

I wanted to watch something that only went to Apple, another to Peacock after brief theatrical releases. I have neither and both movies cost $20 to rent on Amazon Prime. The theater would have been cheaper!

Also, need to remind husband to get rid of Amazon Prime as price is going up.

Too many services, too expensive.

Yes cancel Amazon. Door dash will grind them into dust.

Yes I so looked forward to getting my DVD's! Netflix is so junky now and hard to find the decent stuff. I am fatigued by all the different streaming services and figuring out which ones have the movies I want to see. Maybe I will get MUBI as I miss my arthouse films.
