The Trophée des Alpes has a spectacular view of the coast. We were the only people there when we visited, and it would be a great place for a picnic.

| Been to all three and definitely don’t skip nice! Walk around, wander into heavily populated restaurants. You’ll be able to tell immediately which places are probably good vs less so. Listen to the water wash up over the rocks at night. Enjoy!! One of my favorite places. |
I agree! I hated Nice, loved Cannes. If I go back I’ll go to St Tropez |
| Near Villefranche and Beaulieu is Cap Ferrat, a peninsula with nice walks, high end real estate, and beautiful views. I recommend an evening walk out to have dinner at one of the restaurants |

We also enjoyed the boat ride that we did with SeaZen, which offers solar powered boat tours leaving from the Beaulieu harbor. The captain was amazing and it was a nice way to get out on the water.

I spent time in the south of France last summer and my base was Antibes. I loved Antibes and enjoyed a day trip to Nice (and rented a beach chair too). Villefranche-sur-mer was beautiful, quiet, and I really enjoyed walking around. Eze is absolutely stunning, but you are on top of a cliff and either need to drive down or hike down a very steep trail. I went very early to Eze but by the time i was hiking down, it was HOT. I was miserable, hiking alone, and I'm scared of heights/cliffs and some of the path is fairly narrow and I was terrified and overheated. There is a beautiful spot to jump in the water when you get to the bottom (rocky) and I leapt right in and felt SO much better but the heat was a lot.
If you have time, I highly recommend visiting Cassis (closer to Marseille). Water is nice and cold, basically no waves and perfect for swimming, and it's not nearly as hot. It's a beautiful little town with lots to do. It was my favorite spot on my trip. |
