Avoid NVA at all costs.

Yeah, at all costs. They’re stupid!

1000% avoid! Consider yourself warned...NVA/Loudoun Soccer is just bad. Just do a quick search on Google and Yelp and you will see. Its widespread and has only gotten worse since their old TD Left for a position in California.

Union, Arlington and VDA. Brave isn't well respected and NVA (Loudoun Soccer) is a complete joke unless you like kickball.

Brave also smells bad. But they have the best 2008 team around.

Welcome to NoVA youth soccer aka the hunger games. As you can see there is an active army of haters and cheerleaders for every club. You will get a lot of false and questionable information. The landscape of clubs, coaches, leagues will shift often. Trust no one. Form your own opinions.

Anonymous wrote:Fairfax Brave, Arlington, and McLean/Union are all feasible ECNL clubs within driving distance from Alexandria and Falls Church, and all have a good group of 2011 girls. Arlington’s 2011 roster hasn’t changed much for the past three years or more and might be hard to break in, but Union and Brave this year (U13) are both blended teams from multiple clubs.
I would reach out early to coaches (maybe even with some highlights?) since ECNL tryouts open March 1st, and I would think most rosters would be pretty set by summer.

I would recommend checking roster numbers for each team. Brave has 17 I believe. Union has 19 (all Union teams tend to have high roster numbers and older teams U15 and up go over 20). Arlington sticks to no more than 18. For those with lower numbers, it’s easier for a strong player to get a spot, even if it’s after the outs.

Tell that to the 15 on VA Union's 2010 group.

For the person asking about rosters, they are on the ECNL app. And there are a lot of folks on this forum just trying to stir the pot.
Game of Thrones is a pretty good analogy though…which House for which NOVA club? 🤔

Can find rosters on the team pages https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/2839/schedules-standings

Good point. How does one figure out how many kids on the roster?

Go to the ECNL app or website. You can look at age groups in the mid-Atlantic, click on schedule, click on team, and see the team roster.

That is the ONLY VA Union team that has low numbers. Check for yourself. Older age groups have 23-30, U13s have 19. Consider your daughter lucky to be on a team where everyone on the roster gets playing time.

So NVA plays kickball but VDA doesn't? That's funny.

They both cannot compare to the all holy style of the beautiful VA Union. A true ball playing club with all of the right principles.

Marvelous. Just marvelous.

OP here - we are moving from Florida and yes my daughter is a current starter on the team.

Sound like a lot of drama in VA, same as here

Just remember Arlington teams do well at the younger ages but drop like a rock at u15 and up. Those are important ages if you are looking to play in college.

For u14 It's worth 2 plane tickets to fly out and do a few sessions over a couple days.
