What time is the class?
I think it's fine to cancel and people won't be annoyed. A lot of facilities like MCPS bldgs are closed. It's also okay to keep it - people will be out and about tomorrow and most commercial buildings will be operating (stores, malls, playspaces, restaurants etc.). I wouldn't drive at 7am but I'd drive at 10am when things have been cleared off. |

9:30 class - definitely cancel!
If there is flexibility to begin later, I’d offer that. Otherwise reschedule. Today it was fine to drive then, tomorrow will be colder and icy. Plus anyone that did not clean off their car is going to have a tougher time of it in the morning. If it involved schlepping a toddler as well I’d skip.
Thanks! I’ll offer later time, I do have flexibility with that.
Cancel! I was thinking looking at the weather that today was marginal for cancellations (in DC where I am the roads and sidewalks were fine since it was above freezing most of the day); would never have canceled anything in this weather where I grew up. But I was so glad we weren’t expected to do anything tomorrow since it’s a recipe for ice. All the puddles and slush of today will be frozen solid and it’s not going to make it above freezing before Sunday.
CANCEL 100%.
I moved all of my Saturday morning appts to later in day. Everyone appreciated it. One person canceled before I could reach out to them. They were 1-1 not groups and no little kids though. Most people are ready to get out of the house if it relatively clear. Especially those that can walk. Your safety is important too, do what’s best for you. |
Cancel. The refreeze tonight is going to be brutal.
Cancel.
I have a 10 o'clock kid social group gathering on Saturday and I'm not canceling. I just went out to run some errands (7pm) and the streets are fine tonight and will be fine tomorrow at 9am. If I had a baby, I'd totally want to get the hell out of the house tomorrow morning.
