Ordering delivery when it's snowing?

Go pick up instead of ordering delivery. You probably have a better car than the delivery guy. Our favorite place delivers by Vespa and I just go pick up if the weather is bad.

With the roads like (ie not terrible) this I think OP is after convenience more than trying to avoid risk. And if someone is choosing to drive for Uber eats or DoorDash they are taking that risk anyway. If I did takeout right now I would just use Uber eats, and tip twice what I’d usually tip (at least 20 dollars) and not feel bad about it.

Id bet that DD and uber drivers are refusing to pick up orders with low tips too. So the bigger your tip, the more likely your order gets taken and delivered.

Pizza places sometimes have their own delivery drivers which wouldnt matter as much, but Id still bet they wouldn't prioritize a cheap tip order lol.

+1 We aren't going to order in, but if I did I would tip much, much more than I usually would (and likely at least $40 of it cash in hand, so UberEats or DoorDash or whatever doesn't keep it from the driver).

Big tip and also only order if your neighborhood is safe enough to drive. We live on a big hill and I’ve seen delivery drivers almost crash when our street hasn’t been plowed or is icy. Ordering delivery because it’s too dangerous for you to get out is a jerk move no matter the tip.

I do. People gotta work...but I don't. I usually tip $5 if it's under $20 and $10 if it's over $20. No more.

Yr NP - you are absolutely a jerk if you order delivery and t only tip 20%. That’s a tip for a normal delivery. This person is risking their life to give you that normal delivery level. THAT is what the added tip is for.
