Has Muriel just given up? Major roads not treated. Cars spun out on N. Capitol

I live on n cap. it's been plowed at least 8-10 times today. Where are these spun out cars?

I saw a post that hopscotch bridge (H st NE behind Union station) was closed due to cars spinning out on the hill, not sure how long.

Bottom line is that properly treated roads shouldn't have this issue and the DMV is generally a sh*tshow in figuring this out with infrequent snow.

At 6P I drove Penn Quarter to Manor Park, so about 30-35 minutes and saw a spun our car just at Hawaii Ave and just north of Missouri/Riggs. Do you think if you can't see it looking out your window, it doesn't happen?

First snow of the season is always a s!it show. Then if there are more snows, the city gets its act together.

DC public works staff was especially skeletal over MLK weekend. Maybe they will get their act together today.

It was terrible last night and not bad this morning. Credit where due.

I didn’t see any pre-treatment or hear any plows.

Not true - they were out picking up leaves Sat - I had assumed they were going to be out on Monday for the OT (similar to them working on Thanksgiving)

Well then it must not have happened. You are all-seeing, right?

Yes.

She has revived the Barry political machine. Just as corrupt and incompetent.

Not a fan at all of the current administration but in fairness her snow/ice removal has been better than williams, fenty or barry. Not good compared to anyone who's lived in the NE but by DC standards I would say the best since the '90s. She usually wishes away one storm, has an issue and then figures out how to address for the next few unlike the others who acted like it was something they had no control over and would not plow for days

Democrats told us taxes are good because more govt always improves our lives.

So where is all the tax money going?

I can see the roads were treated earlier but it continued to snow

DP. Nope. But it’s even more ridiculous for someone to look out of their window and immediately start berating the mayor as having “just given up” while the snow is still falling. This is not Buffalo or the mid-west. Happy Snow Day!
DCUM gonna DCUM.
