They play locally.

Fusion are the "National" HS teams. They are selective as they try to get players earlier then said tryouts by inviting them to private workouts. Once tryouts roll around, there's only a few spots left if any on the A team. The B team however is open for the most part. They play on the UAA circuit (couple out of state tournaments) and some local tournaments.

It's just how AAU works. It's no secret that completive AAU HS teams are formed before try outs. At least the core and they are looking for bench or someone outstanding that showed up all the sudden. You just got to shop around and reach out for them to come to practices, open gyms, etc. If your kid is good, they will start to show interest. Especially at early ages.

Most likely all their basketball players play in high school. I wouldn't be surprise if recruiting started there long before tryouts. The spring tryouts would fill out the remaining roster.

Does anyone know if their MS lvl teams are accepting players? Or if they also recruit well before we get to the open gym part? Like I said, my dd's friend was asked by a coach to attend tryout. My DD was not. I am trying to figure out how much weight to give to any of this.

This is a very specific question that only the coach can answer. You should email the coach, but most likely if your child is good enough, she'll make the team. I think they only field one team per grade, so it'll be highly competitive. All of these AAU tryouts seem to be around the same date and time. It's important to find a team that fit your daughter's skill level. Judging from the fact that your child didn't get a personal invite, she's already on the outside looking in. It's best to tryout for at least 2 different teams. AAU teams can be selective and so can you.

I am curious about the inception of GTS Fusion....Azzi Fudd started at Fairfax Stars base don all the clips circulating of her and Caitlyn Clark playing against each other. Why did her parents pull her and start GTS Fusion???

Yeah, once the teams are formed. But they're not transparent or communicative during the tryout process.

Honestly this program could be so good but the Fudd’s don’t pay attention to the younger teams and have no idea what’s happening on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams. Some
Coaches like Joe are great and others are only focused on a few girls at a time. They will also have massive teams so kids playing time good bye.

The Fudds are full of themselves. Only their top team is well coached and it has nothing to do with Fudd. Their younger teams overlook budding players all the time. There is no transparency in this organization and it hurts them.
