A 13 year old??

Yes, troubleshoot network and application issues on PC and MAC. DH taught him how to do that at the age of ten. My neighbor is a Fed and she convinces one of the gov contractors to hire my son.

Your kid and 1000s of others.
How many nonprofits do we need, anyway?

Don’t you need to be 14 for a work permit?

Similar for our kid 14 though he builds out AI/AR environments for companies/orgs. Makes a ton of money.

1-2 weeks overnight camp
2-3 weeks of travel
4 weeks of summer theater camp/rehearsals/show

He’ll be doing online personal finance for high school, probably one hour of tutoring a week, baseball practice, pool time, and lots of video games. Just being honest.

3 weeks sleepaway camp
2 weeks being a CIT at a camp younger siblings will attend and that she has attended
2 weeks family vacation or staying at relatives' house
Some babysitting and pet sitting
Some hanging out at the pool
Some household chores and projects I'll give her
Some Khan Academy for grammar and vocab since school hardly teaches it
Some online Spanish lessons

AI and AR are two completely separate fields, so which is it. Please, provide more details...which companies, what languages is your kid using, etc.

It’s sad we can’t just let kids be kids and enjoy themselves in the summer without making them feel like they need to earn money or gain job experience.

1 week family vacation, 7 weeks sleep away camp

Tooling around with her friends mostly on her own to the mall/pool/parks etc. Dance team camp. Week of Overnight camp. She doesn’t turn 14 until July so won’t be able to get a job until next summer. She’s a social introvert so she will often be busy and then chill for a few days.

My teens want jobs. The place that hires at 14 that lots of local 14/15 yo work at is an amusement park/roller rink in the neighborhood and its mostly high schoolers working there so it’s pretty fun and very part time.

I hate the concept of "we can't just let kids be kids and enjoy themselves" as if kids don't enjoy camps, jobs, learning, etc. My kids LOVE earning money, learning a new language/culture, and would be bored if they got told to just hang out all summer, but they can't work, can't do a language program, can't teach themselves coding, etc. Shouldn't letting kids be kids mean letting them explore their interests and indulge in them, whatEVER they may be?

My 14-year-old is working as a CIT at a tennis camp, with the hope that he will get hired next year when he is 15 (the minimum age to work at the camp).
