Acting principal is fine but won't get the long term job. She had zero elementary leadership experience prior to being appointed. Spanish immersion cohort don't like her due to less favoritism. AP is not great, presents poorly and doesn't appear to speak Spanish. |
She retired. And although gave plenty of notice to Mcps in order for them to fill this position promptly instead they frittered away time and appointed a temp person. |
What will happen to the school's fabulous program and neighborhood English program if current AP and temp P are not at previous standards? Central office - don't screw this. |
Current Principal seems friendly and nice to kids. Definitely some logistical kinks at the start of the year. She also seems to be adhering strictly to MCPS school policies (not bad or good) which I assume is to not make waves this year. AP also seems nice but maybe doesn’t have the type of working style that can roll with the punches and pivot quickly. |
New era, new leaders descended on Tigerland. RoMe-JLo duo is gone. One retired the other is Principal at a different ES. |
Are both acting Principal and Assistant Principal out at the end of the school year? Who replacing them? |
Don't know yet. It'll be up to the interim superintendent/the board to appoint a new permanent principal. |
How is staff turnover at this school? |
Is there staff turnover data, generally speaking? It would be nice to see what this is for different schools. |
Staff was initially unhappy with the new acting principal. They had less contact with her than with the previous principal. But I think they have adjusted to the new leadership. |
Have they chosen the new RCF principal or AP? We have questions to ask them for rising student. |
Not yet |
CCES will have both new principal and AP next year. APs normally only stay 2-3 years, so not a long-term position. |
They likely won’t start until July even if they are selected in the Spring. If you want answers now you should reach out to current admin and/or the PTA. |
No thanks to any PTA busybodies. Questions are about our child, not related to student body. Will contact central office to see if they can answer. |
