Fiction that is better on audio

+1 Julia Whelan is my favorite voice actor/reader/audiobook narrator. I use both Libby and Audible to search for books she narrates. Her voice acting is terrific and she tends to do really good books. (I actually liked the two books she wrote and voice-narrated, too!)

That's so interesting but I can't stand Julia Whelan and actually end up reading any book she has done on my Kindle instead

Eleanor Oliphant was good on the audiobook version

I'm really enjoying Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson.

Daisy Jones and the Six is so good on audio.

I thought Tom Lake was boring even with Meryl Streep reading it. I’m not a big fan of theater either.

Project Hail Mary

I have also enjoyed some books that others on here hated (i.e. Pineapple Street, Bear Town) and I wonder if it's because I love Marin Ireland as a narrator. I definitely tend the like the characters more if I like the narrator's voice (and vice versa!). I have listened to many books that I otherwise wouldn't because of the narrator.

I listen to most Stephen King books and I think he has a wonderful cast of narrators, if you like that kind of fiction. I also read his books, so I just generally like him a lot as an author. I thought the narrator who did Holly (who played Holly in the Mr. Mercedes TV show) was amazing.

I listened to that book solely because Marin Ireland narrated it - if you like her she does a ton of great books!

I loved reading this!

It's YA but the "Bloody Jack" series is fabulous. Most can be found no lIbby & if you have multiple library cards, all can be.

Yes, I even looked for other books read by her.
Unfortunately that took me to Beartown. If you don't know, "Beartown is a hockey town.". You will be told that probably fifty times.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and the other five books in the trilogy. Not the radio BBC versions.
